It was interesting for me to find so many American Hofland’s form the Adrian Hofland line. I have done a lot of research on the Hofland’s in the Netherlands as well as a branch in the USA (Iowa). I can ad now data from your site.
If you are intersested I can send you more direct ancestors of Adrian Hofland back to about 1600. Please send me a message.
I would be interested to get in touch with a member of the Hofland family. Perhaps someone is interested to exchange further data.
As tot the Norwegian Hofland’s (originally Hovland) I can assure you that there are no relations with that family. Our name originates from a farm in Holland about 1600, has been used irregulary untill 1700. From 1717 onwards the name was fixed (sometimes written as Hofland and Hofflandt).

Six women from Wisconsin came to the Butler/Holy Cross church 100 year celebration on July 11, 2010, but with selling the ‘Dutch People on the Cusp of Time Book’ I edited, I did not have time to visit with them. I have not had any other contact upon which to outreach my book for possible sales from the rest of the family. Featured in the book are the families who moved to Wisconsin such as the Henry Sweere family members who were the first to move to Butler during the first World War, the Duponts, some Roes family members, as well as their family members who remained in Butler like Katherine Dykhoff Rutten and her brother Martin as well as a story about Marie’s teenage daughter serving in the Dutch underground during the occupation of Holland during WWII. I still have copies available if anyone would like a copy of the 247 page Dutch history book.
