<p>John J. &#8220;Jack&#8221; Sweere, 77, Hilbert, died on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born Aug. 19, 1931, in the Town of Blufton, son of the late John and Margaret (Dykhoff) Sweere. Jack served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 until 1955. Following his discharge from the military, he married the love of his life, Romona L. Richart, on Feb. 16, 1957, at St. Mary&#8217;s Catholic Church in Hilbert. She preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 2004.</p>
<p>Jack worked over 35 years at Kimberly-Clark before retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Mary&#8217;s Catholic Church in Hilbert, where he also served as Treasurer during the time that the new church was being built. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul in Hilbert. Jack truly enjoyed all Hilbert High School athletics, but was an especially huge Hilbert football fan and loved to attend the games. His family was his pride and joy. Jack appreciated the time he could spend with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Survivors include his four sons, Mark (Nancy) Sweere, Seattle, Wash.; George (Joan) Sweere, Hilbert; Kenneth (Sharon) Sweere, Little Chute; Tony (Hillary) Sweere, Hilbert; three daughters, Peggy (Tom) Nolan, Hilbert; Jodi Sweere, Ft. Worth, Texas; Amy (fiance, Kenneth Hilton) Jones, Hudson, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, Nathan, Jordan, Aliah and Connor Sweere, John Sweere, Emma, Rece and Jack Sweere, Joshua (Heather), Jacob (Katie), Leslie (special friend, Aaron Mauel) Nolan, Angela Sweere and Sonny Korth, Alex and Zoe Jones; three great-grandchildren, Miles and Max Nolan, Olivia Mauel, and two more arriving soon; and his brothers and sisters, Clarence (Virginia) Sweere, Beatrice Berrens, Alice Vercauteren, Anita (Fred) Harder, Judy (Ken) Sommerhalder, &#8220;Toots&#8221; (Al) Krueger, Robert (Mary), Duane (Rosie) and H. Michael (Donna) Sweere.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Diane Sweere; a grandchild, Brennan Sweere; and two brothers, James and Eugene Sweere.</p>
<p>Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at St. Mary&#8217;s Catholic Church in Hilbert, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12 Noon until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.</p>
<p>The family would like to thank everyone who offered their loving care to Jack and his family during this time, especially Dr. Gene Tipler and the staff of Calumet Medical Center, the staff of Century Ridge and the staff of the Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, especially Rachael. All of your care and support was greatly appreciated.</p>
